Korean high jumper Woo Sang-hyeok failed to medal at the Paris Olympics after finishing seventh in the men’s high jump final on Saturday.
Woo started strong at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France, clearing 2.17 meters on his first attempt and doing the same for 2.22 meters.

He then cleared 2.27 meters on his second attempt, but failed to manage 2.31 meters on all three attempts, ending his run at 2.27 meters.
The Paris Olympics is his third medal-less Games after competing at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Outside of the Olympics, Woo has seen great success, having medaled at major tournaments including the Asian Games and World Championships.
At the top of the standings, Hamish Kerr of New Zealand won a gold medal on Saturday after clearing 2.36 meters.
